Learning SEO

SEO entrepreneurs need an upper hand when it comes to internet marketing in order to get a good share of the market.  Without good exposure on the internet, no doubt success will be almost impossible to achieve.  The difference between your website being on page 100 or page 1 of search engine results could be the difference between success or failure.

The key to success is to have better website content, on page SEO and more quality backlinks than your competitor.  Determine the targeted keywords for your niche, perform an SEO website audit on your competitors website and their backlink profile. This will give you an idea what areas you need to improve and do it better than your competitors.

Choosing Your Long Tail Keywords

Keep in mind you must choose the correct long tail keywords for your niche before you design your website or failure is inevitable in the long run.  You can use Google’s Keyword Planner to research your targeted keywords to find out competitive they are which will determine how aggressive your SEO campaign needs to be.  The more competitive the keywords the harder it will be to rank.  If you are targeting local cities, then include these cities in your long tail keywords.  A different web page for each city would be recommended and include the city along with your other keywords in the page URL (www.yoursite.com/auto-repair-atlanta-ga.html), title, meta description, content and H1, H2 H3 tags which are paragraph headings. I would recommend at least 700 words of text or more.  Try to keep most of your important keywords above the fold of the page.

Mobile Responsive Web Design

If your website is not mobile responsive, Google will derank you on mobile devices in SERP’s.  This is probably due to the fact more and more people are using mobile devices and growing yearly. A lot of businesses use WordPress themes for their website which I don’t recommend because on page SEO is more difficult to implement.  There are instances where WordPress will choose the wrong information for your meta description or possibly missing H1, H2, and H3 tags.  This is because WordPress uses an SEO plugin which isn’t always accurate and not a one stop SEO solution.

Of course there is a learning curve as opposed to choosing a ready made template but there is more flexibility such as easily modifying your tags with your long tail keywords. My recommendation for designing mobile responsive websites is using Bootstrap which uses CSS, Javascript and HTML5.

On Page SEO Implementation

You should always implement on page SEO as you are designing your mobile responsive website.  Make sure to include your long tail keywords in your page title, meta description, word content ( at least 700 words or more), image alt tag, H1, H3 and H3 tags.  I would also recommend embedding a video on your page as some people would rather watch a video than read 700 words of text.  As mentioned above you should also include your long tail keywords in your sub page’s URL.  Generally you want a different page for different long tail keywords. You can have a lot of quality backlinks but if your website is not optimized, failure is almost certain. If you are in doubt how to implement on page SEO, I would recommend hiring an SEO expert.

Google Webmaster Tools is a great SEO tool.  Apply for a free Google Webmaster Tools (Search Console) and Analytics account where you can embed HTML tracking code on your web pages for Google analytics such as search analysis, bounce rate, content keywords, crawl errors, links to your site, submit sitemap, disavow bad backlinks, check Schema and mobile usability.

Off Page SEO Implementation

After designing and performing on page SEO for your website, you should begin the process of internet marketing or what’s called off page SEO marketing.  This is a process by which you acquire a lot of quality backlinks from high DA sites thus resulting in a higher SERP for your website.  Your backlink profile should contain a combination of dofollow and nofollow links.  If you have a fairly new website and obtain hundreds or thousands of dofollow links in a short period of time, it could raise a flag to Google.  Obtaining natural backlinks over a period of time is the strategy to implement.  If your website is not new, then I wouldn’t be concerned about obtaining a lot of backlinks in a short period of time.

So how do I get the quality backlinks I need?  Social media profiles and blog articles on social media sites with anchor text links pointing back to different pages on your website.  The anchor text has to be revelant to the page you are linking to.  Use different variations of your anchor text or it will be considering as spamming. Guest blogging is another method if its revelant as well to your content. Register your business with Google maps if you already have a Google+ business page. No doubt social media marketing is a method of getting traffic to your site.

Youtube is another way of directing traffic to your site so I recommend doing several promo videos. Be sure to include your targeted keywords in the video title, description and tags.  You can embed these videos in your social media and web pages as well.

Conclusion

Again, success means choosing your keywords wisely by doing your research, make sure your website is mobile responsive, implement on and off page SEO.  Doing a better job than your competitor gives you the edge which may be all you need for your online business.  Good luck and happy SEOing!

SEO Methods For Success!

SEO Methods For Success!

Have a new business and want a website on page one of Google searches and ask yourself where do I start?  Maybe your selling products and want a shopping cart on your website and confused how to setup Ecommerce?  Maybe you are using a web design template or want to contact a web design expert?  Maybe you want to learn how to do on page or off page SEO or hire an SEO expert which can be quite expensive.  So many questions can make your head spin so you spend many hours on the internet doing research and it even gets more confusing.

It takes many years to learn this entire process so don’t risk your possible success by trying to do it yourself.  So the dilemma is where can I find a reputable web design and SEO professional company  that will do a good job and not rip me off?  If you talk to a representative who answers all your questions and not in a hurry to get you off the phone or pressures you to sign up for the most expensive package, they are most likely a honest and reputable company.   I would then ask to speak to some of their past customers and if they refuse, hang up and continue with other prospects.  An SEO company relies on its reputation for success and of course what goes around comes around.  Success of a company depends on  the experience, intelligence and motivation of its employees.

Choose your domain name wisely which should be short and easy to remember containing your most important keyword.  There are low and high competitive keywords so if you are choosing a high competitive keyword, you might want to consider long tail keywords.  For example if you are selling leather boots, you might want to consider targeting certain cities as opposed to competing with  companies selling leather boots in all 50 states.  So if you are a company in Columbus, GA selling leather boots then your longtail keywords would be “leather boots Columbus, GA”.  Now your chances of obtaining SERP excellence for this certain city would be greater than being on page one of Google for cities in all 50 states that sell leather boots.

On Page SEO For Web Pages

Now that you’ve chosen your domain name and longtail keywords, it’s time to make your website mobile responsive on all devices since Google now requires this as of April 21, 2015 or face a ranking penalty on mobile searches.   Before implementing the internet marketing process, make sure to perform on page SEO for your website.  This ensures you’ve correctly placed keywords in your page title and description meta tags in addition to H1, H2 and H3 tags as well.  Your URL filenames should also include your longtail keywords.  The understanding of SEO process consist of many variables that work hand in hand to make your website appears on page one of searches.

Make sure your web pages contain 600 or more words of content with embedded videos and if you have images, give them an alt tag description containing your keywords.  Videos are so important because they show your products and services in action much better than text and images thus reducing your website bounce rate.

Website loading speed is now a part of the ranking algorithm so limit javascript and third party call to actions such as social media widgets.  Optimize your jpeg images to 96 dpi and limit png transparent images as they can be large in file size.

Internet Marketing Strategy

Social media marketing process to expose your website to millions of potential customers which can be very confusing since a lot of information on the internet is conflicting and biased.  No doubt social media marketing is by far the best method of content marketing.  I would suggest saturating social media sites with blow out of the water blog articles explaining how your products or services are the best value for the money.  In these articles you can implement anchor text links back to different pages on your website to increase your and domain authority thus increasing your SERP.

Conclusion

One last important suggestion is to apply for a free Google Webmaster Tools account to get periodically statistical reports for your website including visitors per day, bounce rate, keyword priority, total backlinks and much more by including some HTML tracking code in the head section of your web pages.  Good luck with your SEO campaign and don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

SEO 2016

seo-2016

After the Google Panda and Penguin algorithms, a lot of SEO professionals  now understand it’s not beneficial to implement keyword stuffing or thin content as this will undoubtedly hinder your chances of obtaining an excellent SERP. Blog articles in the past, at around 400 words, was accepted as quality content but now they have raised the bar to around 800 words. Your blog articles must be blow out of the water informative explaining how your company’s services or products provide consumers with quality at competitive prices.

Optimize Your Web Pages For SEO

There are a lot of controversy about EMD (exact match domains) which are keyword rich domains but I believe they give your visitor a better idea of what your website is about. My recommendation is to use 1 or 2 keywords in your domain name and of course short domain names are easier to remember.

I can’t stress the importance of choosing revelant keywords that people will use in search engines to find your website. If these keywords are very competitive, you might want to use long tail keywords instead which are less competitive. You can visit https://adwords.google.com/KeywordPlanner to do research on your prospective keywords. Keep your keyword density at no more than 3% of your total content per web page. As mentioned in my other articles, page meta title, description, H1, H2 and H3 tags should also include your targeted keywords.

Google uses page loading time as one of the ranking SEO methods and very important on mobile devices so don’t have any embedded videos configured for autoplay. If you have a sliding banner, limit the number of images and optimize them at 72 dpi. Don’t forget image alt tags should also contain your keywords. Also limit javascript as these can make a request to a third party server which fails to respond. You can test your web page loading speed by clicking here.

This past April 21, 2015, Google released a new mobile friendly ranking algorithm which gives a ranking boost to mobile friendly websites in mobile search results. I’ve been using Bootstrap to design mobile responsive websites since May of 2015 and found many free plugins on github.com to expand its capabilities.

Social Media Marketing

Social media sites are a great way of acquiring natural earned backlinks for great SERP within 4 to 6 months. When posting blog articles, use anchor text backlinks for different variations of your targeted keywords which should be revelant to the web pages you are linking to on your website. Most social sites have a profile setup where you can add the URL of your website giving you another backlink. I recommend creating a Google+ business page, Facebook business page, Pinterest, Tumblr, Blogspot, Linkedin, etc. Another way to get some good backlinks is using social media marketing bookmarks such as delicious and Google bookmarks.

Setting up a Google Webmaster account allows you to get analytical reports for your website which includes bounce rate, visitors per day, percentage of new and returning visitors, crawl errors, number of incoming external links and keywords picked up by Google. You can generate html tracking code which is put in the section of every web page. Also register your business name and address to get a position on Google maps.

No doubt video marketing is essential to the internet marketing process. I have talked with many SEO professionals that don’t create promo videos which I would definitely consider since Youtube gets over 1 billion visitors per month. Your video title should contain your targeted keywords as well as the description and tags. Begin the description with your website URL to get a backlink. Encode your video at 1920×1080 resolution with the H.264 codec which Adobe Media Encoder does quite well.

Conclusion

SEO has changed over the years and will continue to change with Google algorithms coming out periodically. I believe exceptional quality content will remain the key to getting a high SERP position. Nothing comes easy in life and getting to the top of page one in Google search is no exception. Good luck and happy SEOing in 2016!

SEO Methods

SEO-tips1

There are many articles on the internet explaining the SEO process and some of these can be somewhat confusing.  There are two parts to this process which is essentially on and off page SEO.  Putting your targeted keywords in the correct places on your web pages is very important before you can begin your internet marketing campaign.

On Page SEO

Social media internet marketing is the most important way to expose your products or services and acquire natural earned backlinks to your website which is required to get a great organic ranking on search engines.

When choosing your domain name, make sure to include one or two of your most important keywords. Determine how competitive your targeted are because you might have to use long tail keywords which are less competitive for better ranking.

Video internet marketing process is an important part of your SEO campaign as Youtube gets around 1 billlion visitors per month.  Your video should have a resolution of either 1280×720 or 1920×1080 and keep the length of around 5 minutes or less.  Your keywords should be in the video title as well as the description. The beginning of the video description should begin with a backlink to your website.

Each page on your website such have around 500 to 700 words of text with integrated keywords at 3% density.  If you have images, they should have an alt tag with a keyword as well.  To keep down page loading times use jpeg instead of png images as these are larger in file size.

Make sure to embed a video on your page as this can reduce your bounce rate as many visitors would rather watch a video than read 700 words of text.  Other things to consider when performing On Page SEO process is to make sure the H1, H2 and H3 (paragraph headings) contain your targeted keywords.  Also your web page file names (filename.html)  should contain your keywords as well.

Off Page SEO

Social media marketing tools I recommend are a Facebook business page along with other sites such as Pinterest, Linkedin, Blogger.com, Tumblr.com, WordPress.com and Youtube. You can also include a backlink to your website in your social media profile setup.

When posting your blog articles on your social media site, make sure to use variations of your targeted keywords as anchor text backlinks to different pages on your website for link diversity as you don’t want all your external backlinks pointing to just your homepage.

Contrary to popular belief, SEO is not complex because if you break down this process, it consist of preparing your website to be SEO friendly and implementing an off page internet marketing campaign to acquire more domain and page authority for your website.  Another thing to mention is that Google now requires all websites to be mobile friendly or get penalized on mobile searches.  I recommend Bootstrap for making your website mobile responsive.

Social Signals Drive SEO?

Social Signals Drive SEO?

social-signals

There are many articles on the internet stating social signals is not an SEO factor but in my experience there is no doubt it plays a significant role when it comes to implementing a successful SEO strategy. There are several reasons social signals have an indirect and direct influence on your website SERP (search engine results page).

  • Quantity of social media shares and followers
  • Quantity of people who have you in their Google+ circles
  • Quantity and diversity of anchor text earned backlinks per blog post pointing to different pages on your website
  • Quantity of positive reviews on Google Local

Onsite Social Signal Elements Include:

  • Connect buttons (Follow on LinkedIn, Facebook Like, Twitter follow, etc.)
  • Onsite blog with targeted longtail keywords at 3%

Offsite Social Signal Elements Include:

  • Linkedin company page
  • Facebook business page
  • Pinterest business page
  • Company Youtube channel
  • Tumblr account
  • WordPress account

Launching your social media online presence

Register your business with the social media sites listed above and remember to list your website URL in your profile setup is one of the most important steps for internet marketing.

Set a goal to post at least one blog per day on each social media site. You can use the blog posts on your website but remember integrated anchor text backlinks should contain your targeted long tail keywords and point to different blog pages on your website. Use variations of long tail keywords so it doesn’t appear as keyword stuffing. Keywords should be around 3% of entire content.

Each blog should be around 500 words or more with at least one embedded Youtube video. Use images in your blog posts so Pinterest users can pin them. Use social media like, share or connect buttons which enable readers to follow you on Google+, Linkedin, Facebook and Twitter.

Quality Content

As you’re writing your blog posts, keep in mind your content must contain how your products or services can help people in their everyday lives as these visitors will more than likely share or re-pin your content and their followers as well. Best quality content keeps your visitors on your blog posts longer thus reducing your site’s bounce rate and improving your SEO. Remember, you are not trying to rank your blog posts but as a way of link building to increase your website’s page and domain authority.

Social media marketing is an important part of your internet marketing campaign to promote your content to a broad audience which helps drive a huge amount of visitors back to your website. There are many people who would rather watch a video instead of reading 700 words of text so I strongly recommend embedding a video below your blog post as this sends a signal to Google of excellent quality content.

Conclusion

I’ve been using social media for years as a way of increasing my website’s SERP with fantastic results. I write my own blogs since I know many SEO methods but If no one in your company is able to write blogs at 3% keyword density, I recommend hiring a professional marketing blogger. Good luck and happy social media marketing!

Want to be an SEO Expert?

Domain Names

There are many factors that one should consider if you want to become an SEO expert.  Because the domain name itself is a ranking factor that search engines consider when determining SERP, I would recommend including your most important targeted keywords and a .com would be better than a .net, org, info as it helps with brandability.  We all know .com is more common, looks more authoritative and our brain is wired to think .com.  Avoid hyphens in your domain name as this detracts from credibility and can considered as a spam indicator.  When selecting a domain name remember to make it short and easy to remember.

ON Page SEO

Before considering an Off Page SEO method process, I highly recommend performing an On Page SEO for your website.  The most important first step is choosing your targeted keywords and determine how competitive they are by using Google’s keyword planner at https://adwords.google.com/KeywordPlanner.  If your keywords are very competitive nationally then include your city and state which results in long tail keywords.  These keywords should be included your page meta title, description, H1, H2, and H3 tags as well.  For your entire website, keep your keywords around 3% density to avoid keyword stuffing as Google frowns up this and can hurt your SERP.

Excellent quality content is an important part of On Page SEO so I recommend around 400 words of text per page with integrated keywords and include embedded videos as this will keep visitors on your website longer thus reducing your page bounce rate. Keep jpeg images at 72 dpi and limit the usage of .png image as these will be larger file size resulting in a longer page loading time.  Also don’t forget to give your images an alt tag description.

Implement a Blog on your website as this will be an important part of your Off Page SEO process as I will explain later in this article.  Your Blog articles should include 3% keyword density and explain in detail how your products or services can help people in their everyday lives.  Your web page filename  seo-columbus-ga.html should also include your targeted keywords. Good navigation and internal linking is also an important factor.

As of April 21, 2015 Google is now requiring websites to be mobile friendly or face a ranking penality on mobile searches.  I recommend using Bootstrap which is an open source framework of HTML 5, Javascript and CSS which allows web pages to adjust automatically on any type of screens from cell phones to large LED monitors.  You can find many free plugins for Bootstrap on github.com  which can enhance your responsive web design project.

I highly recommend getting a free Google Webmasters account which links your website to Google Analytics allowing you to generate a Google tracking html code which you will embed in all your web pages.  This allows you to receive frequent analytical reports from Google showing statistics about your website such as bounce rate, visitors per day, derived keywords and much more!

Off Page SEO

So now you’ve implemented On Page SEO for your website and ready to begin your internet marketing campaign.  Social media has become a great avenue for acquiring important backlinks needed to improve your website’s domain and page authority. Some of the social media sites I use are Google+ communities, Pinterest, Blogspot, Linkedin, Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter and Youtube.

After you’ve setup your social media sites, it’s time to start posting Blog articles.  Each article should contain around 500 words of text or more with embedded videos.  Again, keep your targeted long tail keywords around 3% density and not only in the body but in H1, H2 and H3 tags as well.  Use these long tail keywords as anchor text backlinks to related Blog pages on your website giving them more domain authority.  Make sure to use variations of anchor text so it doesn’t appear as keyword stuffing.  You can post the same Blogs you have on your website but make sure all anchor text links point to different Blog pages on your website.

Video internet marketing is an important part of the Off Page SEO process so I highly recommend posting many videos on Youtube, Daily Motion, Vimeo and frequency.com.  Include your targeted keywords in the video title, description and tag area.  Since Youtube likes HD video, render your videos at 1920×1080  or 1280×720 resolution.  Adobe Premiere, which is my favorite, has many different Youtube render presets.

Conclusion

As described above, SEO is a combination of On Page and Off page search engine optimization and is no doubt a long tedious process which is why SEO professionals are  expensive.  If this process is implemented correctly, you can expect to see excellent SERP results in a matter of 4 to 6 months.  Good luck and happy SEOing!!!

Get a Great SERP in 4 Months

Get a Great SERP in 4 Months

SERP

Getting the number one position on search engines can be a long and tedious process but if done correctly, can be achieved in approximately 4 months.  There are many variables that are considered when implementing on-page and off-page SEO campaign which are listed below:

Long Tail Keywords

The first step is to determine what targeted keywords your campaign will be based on and their competitiveness. Google has a keyword planner tool at https://adwords.google.com/KeywordPlanner that allows you to research hits for different cities or the entire United States.  The more hits per month for a certain keyword will make it more different to rank for.  If you are a local business, I recommend using your city and state as part of your long tail keyword internet marketing method.

Google’s new Panda 4.2 algorithm, rolled out July 2015, concentrates on quality content so each of your web pages should have a minimum of 300 words with 3% keyword density.  I would recommend separate page url’s for different variations of targeted keywords and include them in the page filename yourdomain.com/pagenamewithkeywords.html. Include keywords in the following page meta tags: Title, description, H1, H2, H3 and image alt tags.

High Quality Backlinks/SEO

Tons of high PR or domain authority links equals high search engine ranking for your website and the best method is to utilize the social media arena.  Determine how your products or services can help people in their every lives and write in your own words many articles with anchor text keywords linking back to related pages on your website.  There are many high quality social media sites to post your articles on such as Google+, Pinterest, Blogger.com, Linkedin, Tumblr, Reddit etc.

I would suggest also putting a Blog on your personal or business with these same articles to obtain the keyword density that Google finds when your website is crawled.  Embedding Youtube videos on your web pages helps with the video quality content requirements and provides information about your products in action as opposed to text only.  It also helps with the page bounce rate as studies have shown people would rather watch a video than reading a lot of text.

You can create a free Google Webmaster’s account to find out what keywords Google is picking up from your website along with the most and least prevalency.  Remember keyword density is 3% so the more text content you have, the more you can repeat your long tail keywords.

It’s a good practice to avoid backlinks from paid directories or server link farms.  It would take hundreds of low quality backlinks to equal the link power of just a few high quality sites.  Natural earned backlinks is always preferred to the quick fast method which might get your website penalized.  From past SEO backlinks experience, writing good quality blog articles on a frequent basis seems to get the best SERP results.  Great quality content is extremely important but fresh content added to your website regularly is what Google likes.

Conclusion

SEO is not something you do until a great SERP is obtained, it’s a never ending process if you wish to retain your ranking position.  Only your customer knows their products and services more than an SEO professional so I always ask the customer up front if they can provide blog articles frequently before I take them on as a client. When shopping around for experts to bring your business to the next level, always ask for client references.  If the SEO company you are considering refuses due to client confidentially, this should raise a red flag.

Is Social Media Marketing Effective?

Social Media Marketing

social media marketing

Social media marketing is a large part of SEO and is the most effective and least expensive way of marketing your products or services. The first step of this process is to write blog articles explaining how your products can help people in their everday lives which will help you target specific search keywords. Let’s say a visitor is searching on a social media site for sports injuries, then write your article explaining how your services or products can help with this. Or you might specialize in holistic medicine so each of your articles would target different types of illnesses.

Quality Content

Your social media articles should have blow out of the water quality SEO content people are looking for. There is no doubt videos have the capability to show your products in action compared to just text. Many people either have limited time or short attention span so I recommend embedding a Youtube video below your article text. Keep your video marketing to around 3 to 5 minutes and the first 30 seconds must grab the visitor’s attention. The output format of your videos should be MPEG-4 AVCHD 1920 x 1080 en encoded with H.264 codec which Adobe Premiere will do quite nicely.

If your social media marketing article has great quality content, visitors will share it and their followers as well increasing the visibility of your products exponentially. To keep visitors returning to your social media site frequently, write new articles on a regular basis.

Posting your articles on different Google+ communities can dramatically increase your product exposure to people around the world. Below are some social media sites you can post your articles:

  • Setup a Facebook business page
  • Setup a Google business page
  • Create boards and pins on Pinterest
  • Blogspot.com is owned by Google and a great place to post your articles – create a different URL for each article
  • WordPress.com is one of the oldest and most popular social media sites
  • Tumblr is owned by Yahoo and has over 248 million blogs
  • Linkedin is a business social networking site since 2003 and has approximately 75 million visitors per month
  • Youtube was purchased by Google for $1.65 billion dollars and has over 1 billion visitors per month. If your videos are SEO optimized correctly, they can show up on Google search results.
  • Dailymotion.com is Google’s competitor which allows for longer videos at 60 minutes with a resolution up to 1280 x 720
  • Frequency.com is basically a video database where you can submit your video URL’s from Youtube or Dailymotion

Conclusion

Writing informative and engaging articles for your social media pages is definitely the way to go for content marketing. One thing Google frowns upon is plagiarism so write articles in your own words to alleviate the possible of your blogs being penalized on searches.

How to Write Great Quality Content for Blogs

How to Write Great Quality Content for Blogs

quality content for SEO

Quality Content For SEO//

SEO geeks know quality content is the one of the major factors when implementing internet marketing and many people ask me “what is great quality content”? Blogs containing 500 to 800 words integrated with your targeted long tail keywords can be good for SEO but will your visitors read the entire article if it’s long winded and not informative? Great internet marketing is a result of providing outstanding content which attracts visitors and keeps them returning on a regular basis. We all know people search the internet for information and one must provide the best possible blow out of the water content to attract and keep visitors returning to your blog or website.

Target Different Audiences

If you are pushing your products or services, write your blog content to target different audiences. Let’s say your company sells biomedical feedback devices that helps with tinnitus or elderly people with arthritis. Obviously your 2 blogs would be about what causes arthritis and tinnitus and how your products can help with the symptoms. Or maybe a blog about sports injuries with information how your products help with those as well.

Video Content

There are a percentage of people who would rather watch a video than read and this is why a video marketing campaign should be part of your blog or website content. Youtube has proven this with over 1 billion visitors per month. The best method I’ve found is to embed a Youtube video just below your blog article so you cater to those who want to read, watch a video or both. I recommend keeping your video around 3 to 5 minutes for those having a short attention span or with limitied time on hand.

New Quality Content Frequency

Write new and interesting blog articles on a regular basis as this will keep visitors returning and more than likely will follow and share your content on their social media pages which can dramatically give your website or blog more page authority resulting in a better search engine page results.

Conclusion

Remember the goal is not to write about how your products/services are less expensive than your competitor or brag about your company. Write informative articles about how your products/services can help visitors with their everyday life. Determination and imagination is the key to writing great SEO quality content that visitors are looking for!

Video Marketing

Video Marketing

video marketing

Video marketing is the future of content marketing and appears to be the best method of showing off your products or services on the internet. Youtube receives more than 1 billion visitors each month so no doubt this is a viable source of content marketing.

Cisco Corporation operates the backbone of the internet with it’s high tech routers and stated “video will account for 69% of all consumer internet traffic by 2017

Optimized videos on Youtube or Dailymotion can achieve good SERP results and this article explains why video is an important part of content marketing.

Youtube prefers high definition videos 1280 x 720 dpi or higher in resolution.

  • Video title should contain targeted long tail keywords
  • Video description should begin with http://www.yoururl.com for a backlink to your website followed by a description of the video with targeted keywords.
  • Add video tags below the description with included long tail keywords
  • Under advanced setting choose category, video language, recording date and under caption certification choose “this content has never aired on television in the US.

Dailymotion.com is another video sharing service limiting your video to 2 GB and 60 minutes. Frequency.com is like a video social bookmarking site where you can put all the video URL’s from Youtube and Dailymotion. Vimeo is similar with the exception you can only upload a certain amount of videos each month without paying for a subscription.

Embeding videos on your website and social media blogs engages visitors more which results longer stays thus reducing your site’s bounce rate. One thing to keep in mind when producing and editing your videos is to make sure the first 30 seconds grabs the visitor’s attention and total video length of around 3 to 4 minutes.
